However, in a recent judgment, the Federal judge Audrey Collins declared certain provisions within the Act to be “unconstitutional & vague”. The decision came in the wake of a legal suit filed by the Center for Constitutional Rights, on behalf of the Humanitarian Law Project, a human rights organisation that seeks to provide human rights training to the Turkey-based Kurdistan Workers Party, and is also closely associated with the Tamil-Americans seeking removal of LTTE from the global terrorist organisation’s blacklist. So the current ruling will permit the America- based sympathisers of the Sri lankan rebel group LTTE to whole-heartedly support the humanitarian activities of their revered organisation without the fear of prosecution under the US law.
